The Danish FSA has published a report on data ethics when using AI in the financial sector

Published 17-09-2024

The vision of the Danish FSA in its Strategy of 2025 is that there must be justified confidence in the financial system. This also implies confidence that companies will process data in a sound manner.

The aim of this report is to give all companies within the financial sector some practical tools and inspiration for considerations, if and when they will work with data ethics. The intention is not to propose new requirements for the companies.

The report includes examples on data ethical dilemmas, which illustrates some of the considerations the companies can make, when they process data. The report also includes seven tools that the companies can use, if they wish to actively work with data ethics.

The Danish FSA has conducted a public consultation on the report and has received many valuable inputs and suggestions from the sector. Submitted answers on the consultation can be found at Høringsportalen. The Danish FSA will revise the report if deemed necessary by the market developments or regulation.
