Warning against fraudulent use of the name of Danske Bank A/S by ‘clone firm’

The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) warns the public against the fraudulent use of the name Danske Bank A/S by clone firm.

It has come to the attention of the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) that individuals in Ireland falsely claim to belong to Danske Bank A/S. These individuals contact consumers by phone and email offering investment in the product “Danske Bank – Fixed Rate Bond 2023 Issue”. In this instance, it is a clone firm that has cloned the name of Danske Bank A/S or parts thereof to deceive consumers.

The individuals are not authorized by the FSA or other financial authorities and makes fraudulent use of the name of Danske Bank A/S.

Examples of contact information used by these individuals include by email investorrelations@danskebonds.com and by phone +353 1 270 7533.

The Danish FSA strongly advice against responding to any offer of financial instruments or services made by these individuals and against transferring money to any account number these individuals might mention. Also, the Danish FSA recommends that investors do not communicate with these individuals.
