Warning about false letters with the DFSA´s name, logo, stamp and signature

Several citizens have contacted the DFSA on the basis of having received false letters with the name and logo of the organization and in some cases even its stamp and signature.

The letters entail information about the citizens’ transactions being suspended, and the recipients are asked to hand over specific information.

If you receive a letter or an e-mail that claims to be from the DFSA, and if you are in doubt whether the message is a scam or not, please do not react to it but inform instead the DFSA about the matter. We emphasize that the DFSA does not suspend nor freeze transactions. Such an act would be made by a financial institution which could be contacted directly in case it occurred.
