30 November 1999: Current status regarding the financial sector's Year 2000 preparations Contact person: Henrik Bjerre-Nielsen, Director General Tel. 33 55 82 82 At a meeting today of the Association of Local Banks, Savings Banks and Co-operative Savings Banks in Denmark, the Managing Director of the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, Henrik Bjerre-Nielsen, reported on the current status of the financial sector's Year 2000 preparations. The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority is of the opinion that the managements of the financial companies have lived up to their responsibilities by taking the action needed to prepare their companies for the Year 2000 date change. The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority will continue to monitor the financial sector closely and will be manned between Christmas and the New Year as well as in the days immediately following the turn of the millennium. The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority will continue keeping the public informed about the situation of the financial sector as the need arises.
